Where the secrets of the Barbaglia family artisan crafted ice cream are kept !

The plant is located on the West Rand area of Johannesburg, and is where the premium ingredients and flavourings are combined to create the wonderful world of Baglios Italian ice cream, frozen yoghurts and sorbets.

The plant is operated under the strictest European benchmarked hygiene standards, and the ingredients are shipped from here to the various stores using a seamless cold-pipeline transport channel that ensures the product arrives frozen for manufacture in-store. This continuous frozen pipeline is critical for the products to retain the quality necessary for the end product manufacture.

While Franchisees place product orders with the Franchisor, the ingredients are distributed direct from the factory to the individual store ready for storage and production.

The Barbaglia family owned plant is due for expansion shortly, and is a separate business from that of Baglios Franchising (Pty) Ltd. The plant also supplies Baglios pre-made ice cream direct to select independents and chain retailers.
